フロリダの川で撮影したマナティーの尾。夏の間は海で生活する個体と、通年川で生活する個体がいます。このマナティーの尾にはフジツボがついていることから海で生活していたと考えられます。淡水に移動して死んだフジツボは小魚達の餌になっていました。

This is a tail of manatee in Florida. The tail had many barnacles. Most manatees in Crystal river live in the sea during the summer. (although some residents that stay in the river all year round) In December, the winter just started, Some individuals have barnacles, it indicate that they have returned from the ocean because barnacles can live only in sea water.
